Hearing loss is a condition in which individuals are fully or partially unable to detect or perceive at least some frequency of sound. Meningitis may damage the auditory nerve or cochlea. Hearing impairment may be ranked as mild, moderate, severe, or profound. Profound being almost complete hearing loss.
Brookelyn is profoundly deaf. She may be a candidate for a cochlear implant to aid in this condition. As of now she can not hear anything due to the meningitis.
